They say that a photograph says the most about the photographer. I believe that to be true. Photography tells me about me. It shows me my perspective, my prejudices, my hopes and my dreams. Through the lens, I learn who I am.
I was once asked what I want people to feel when they see my photographs. I struggled with that question until I finally arrived at the answer that that is not for me to decide. You will see whatever you need to see in that moment and whatever you need to feel. Where I saw beauty, you may see tragedy. Where I saw heartache, you may see hope. That is the magic of it all - that we get to make it our own in the viewing.
